Optimal Burn
A perennial favorite at Twenty Two Home, Cire Trudon, has just released fresh a new set of scented candles for spring. We have adored these candles, hand-made in Normandy, for years. We love them so much that we have one burning daily in our showroom (stop by our showroom to enjoy free scents any time).
Will you choose Reggio—a melange of grapefruit, mandarin and mimosa—or Salta—a springy mix of verbena, grapefruit and hyacinth? Or maybe the Madurai with grounding ylang-ylang, jasmine and resin...whatever you desire, we want to share our tips for burning these treasures. Yes, instructions are needed for burning a candle!
1. Trim the wick. Each use (no exceptions) be sure the wick is between 1/8" and 1/4". This ensures a clean burn, i.e., no dark smoke.
2. Burn for a minimum of 2 hours. This ensures that the entire surface melts, maintaining a balance to the wax. When burned for shorter duration, welling results.
3. Save the container. You invested in this accessory-extend its life by pouring the wax after final burn and repurposing as a pen holder, flower pot or desk object.
